The volunteer arm of MAC FCU receives matching funds from AFFN
Fairbanks, AK — The Armed Forces Financial Network has awarded a $1,500 matching grant to the “MAC PAC.” The MAC PAC is the community outreach arm of MAC FCU and donates funds, resources, and volunteer time to worthwhile projects in the Fairbanks North Star Borough, the Mat-Su Valley, and throughout Alaska.
The MAC PAC is almost exclusively funded by MACFCU employees, so the extra funds will allow the group more opportunities for service. MAC PAC leader, Sabrina Webb said, “Words will never be able to express the full impact of us being able to put this grant into action in our communities.”
AFFN's mission is to increase the versatility of participating financial institutions to better serve the U.S. military. Since MAC Federal Credit Union began as a military banking institution and continues to maintain strong military roots, its participation with the AFFN is a great asset in helping to serve families within the armed forces. The AFFN Matching Grant program aims to disperse funds to financial institutions that are impacting troops and their families.
MAC Federal Credit Union opened its doors almost 70 years ago in Fairbanks, Alaska. Initially, they served only military members on Fort Wainwright. Due to continued success and growth, the award-winning credit union has since expanded its membership to the community by opening two more locations in Fairbanks and is now also serving Fort Wainwright, Wasilla, and will be opening its newest branch in Palmer, AK this summer. Its board of directors is exclusively Alaskans who constantly strive to keep the state and this financial institution moving forward.
